Another great blessing from the Berean:

Galatians 5:19-21
(19) Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, (20) idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, (21) envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
New King James Version

Consider this passage in light of the laws and beliefs that we frequently point to as setting us apart from the world. A person can keep the Sabbath, at least in the letter, and still display drunkenness, hatred, contentions, outbursts of wrath, and dissensions. One can reject the Trinity doctrine, the doctrine of eternal security, and the immortality of the soul yet promote and practice heresies, since a heresy is simply any deviation from truth. An individual can tithe yet exhibit selfish ambitions, envy, and jealousy. Someone can observe the laws of clean and unclean meats and still be unclean in his heart and in the decency of his life. A man can be physically pure in his relationships while living vicariously through revelries, which Adam Clarke's commentary defines as wild parties and obscene music.

The warning at the end of verse 21 is explicit: Those who practice such evils or make them a part of their lives will not be in God's Kingdom'they simply would not fit in. Their lifestyle is contrary to the quality of the life God lives and expects His children to live.

To put this another way, what kind of witness does a person make who keeps the Ten Commandments (including the Sabbath and holy days), eats only clean meats, tithes faithfully, and rejects false doctrines, yet has a temper, curses, tells dirty jokes, has a perpetual chip on his shoulder, always has a complaint against another, always looks out for "number one," drinks too much, and revels in perverse entertainment? Such a witness of nominal lawkeeping is useless to God, just as ancient Israel's witness to the nations gave the enemies of God an occasion to blaspheme (Ezekiel 36:20-23).

When Jesus Christ introduces Himself in the letter to the Laodicean church (Revelation 3:14), He highlights the fact that He is "the Faithful and True Witness." He points to this title to show where the Laodiceans fall short. They are so enamored of the world and so much a part of it that it is difficult for an observer to tell them apart from the rest of Babylon! Their lives do not glorify God because they do not demonstrate a separation from the world. They do not demonstrate holiness or sanctification.

In contrast, the result of the Holy Spirit being active in a person's life will be love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness (meekness), and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). These attitudes are not manifested all at once, which is why Paul calls them "fruit." Fruit takes time to develop and mature. Nevertheless, one whose life God dominates, who is led by His Spirit, will be exhibiting these things in addition to obeying God's law. He will be not merely obeying but also imitating God. He will be exhibiting these characteristics because he is a regenerated son of God who expresses the traits of his Father.

Excerpt from link below:
The Letter of the Law vs. Intent of the Law

Jesus' Dispute with the Pharisees -For many Christians, the bible is a handbook of rules and regulations for how to live and act, but what happens when those rules get in the way of the gospel?

It's not unusual in most Christian-based debates to have people grab hold of one passage or another from scripture to back up their stance in a disagreement. How many times have you heard, "The Bible says..." and someone rebukes them by going, "But the Bible also says..." Disagreeing on scriptural interpretation is nothing new--especially when scripture seems to contradict itself from one passage to the next. So what is a Christian to do when these apparent "conflicts" in scripture appear? In an effort to back up their stance, do Christians sometimes make the mistake of the Pharisees in that they focus too heavily on the "letter" of scripture rather than its intent?

God Bless Sandra what a great article. It gives me hope! You made my day.

Jesus called us all to cast off our weakness and find our potential in him.

We, the little people, have done so much for so long with so little, that we are now able to almost anything with nothing.

We the little people will be made mighty in the Lord. Surely the trumpet blow will be soon heard.

Great articles, Sandra, and really liked the one you left on the comment section below about the little people. Rejoice and make a glad sound unto the Lord.

Yellowstone is 'taking a deep breath' but it poses 'no seeming immediate threat.'

Although the moon was full last night, the full wolf moon isn't waning much at all tonight...very big and very beautiful.

Maybe that's what's tugging on Yellowstone:

Tomorrow is another one of the unusually odd dates this year: 01-21-2011.

Keep the oil burning, know there is always hope because there is Jesus, stay blessed and keep looking up. Love and peace to all.

Today, the 21st of January, 2011, is the first day of the second term of Mr. Obama's Presidency. He has held high the offer of compromise and forgiveness of his enemies for the greater part of his term, thereby reaching out more than half-way to affect a reconcilliation of the new Light with the wayward prodigal sons that now rule the earth in power. As the best and worst generals know, any offer of peace needs time to be considered, but if never accepted then the day must eventually dawn where new strategies can and must be applied. First the olive branch, and the rod of iron as a last resort, that is the way of heaven. If he can understand his accomplishment, and claim his authority and move decisively against the dark pockets of financial and political power left, he can move everything farwards to total disclosure of the truth of a planet held hostage.

Palestinian resistance fighters on high alert:

http://www.presstv.ir/detail/161170.html

World events are as crazy as the weather, as usual. And the world is spinning faster...literally. Reports of towns in South America having to be vacated because the earth's crust is moving. Some speculate the rapid polar shift is to blame. Ridges in the oceans are increasing and intensifying with earthquakes, and you just know something is about to give. Somewhere. California is said to be undergoing a managed retreat from the ocean due to the rising sea level and they are reporting that a mega storm of some kind will hit the state and wipe out 25 percent of the housing. They also say this threat is more likely than the 'big one' that we have always been told will happen. Hundreds are still missing from the Brazilian mudslides. Herds of animals are freezing to death in Vietnam. Reports of mass wildlife die offs continue around the world.

An Obama envoy is in Israel to discuss security. The P5+1 is meeting in Istanbul. Egypt is planning mass protests at the end of the month. Iran announces it will never retire its nuclear program. Fourteen countries albeit somewhat insignificant countries have declared recognition of Palestine as an independent state, and now Russia has joined the fray as well, which is not such an insignificant state. Turkey is calling for discussion of lifting sanctions against Iran at the P5+1 meeting. It's safe to say Israel is not happy. Violence in Iraq is increasing and there is said to be a 'secret surge' taking place in Afghanistan. China warns the US not to further rising tensions in Taiwan and Tibet, and China means it.

The world is on fire with evil and corruption. Soon the Lord will set it on fire with His holy word.

What an amazing exciting time. Call me crazy 'cause I am. Crazy for Jesus and all His ways. Watching prophecy unfold is incredible and the revealing of it all is beyond words, but I love every minute of it.

God is with us. And He will not forsake us. His wrath is for the wicked. His promises are for His children. Glorious, amazing, wonderful promises of more than we can ever begin to imagine.

Prepare your hearts and minds for the Kingdom of God is at hand.

() I hope he uses the Rod soon, because the Dark Powers in charge have no intention of peacefully settling with this man. I fear for his life, look at what they were able to get someone to do to Giffords, a Moderate former Republican who agrees with most conservatives on a host of issues.

Yesterday, after hearing from officials from the Mortgage Bankers' Association, Peter S. Goodman, a business editor at the Huffington Post, decided to take it upon himself to FIRE Mike Elk, a labor reporter in Washington, DC who covered and helped break a story that exposed their lobbying for a back door bailout.

Sandra,

That is something that the Huffington Post should be held accountable for. Typical of the banksters, but have no fear their time is coming

Dave,
Now this has happened. I was watching Keith Olbermann on MSNBC and he announced this was his last show. They are getting rid of all that are speaking truth to the masses. Maybe this was a mutual parting of ways but we will find out in the days ahead.

Dave Wilcox said...

Interesting. I wonder if Olberman just pissed off too many people. FF you may be right, 2011 is going to be a rough year.

But as the darkness grows, the light shines brighter.

Our God is so good.

Patiently, longingly and lovingly we wait on Him just as our ancient ancestors waited.

There's an old saying from somewhere that says 'good things come to those who wait' and indeed good things are coming. The Lord will not tarry, and as all His ways are perfect, so is His timing, for everything has a purpose and a time. Believe the Lord our God who says this and know that He is in control of all of it.

Sandra, I came across this and thought you might like to see it. I'm thinking that HAARP is the cause of the animal dieoffs.

http://beforeitsnews.com/story/371/218/HAARP:_Persian_Gulf_Eyewitness.html

Unfortunately and for a time, satan and his minions have a purpose for everything, too. The ultimate purpose is to rule the world in place of God. We know it as the New World Order and it will persecute those who have not and will not accept and abide by their rules. But I believe God will revive His church somewhere in the midst of it, and He tells us that His endtime church will be more glorified than His beginning church. We read in the Bible that the disciples laid their hands on people and filled them with the Holy Ghost, fed people and healed them, even Peter's shadow. His endtime church will be even more powerful than this? Yes, good things are coming for those who love Him with all their heart, mind and strength. Whom shall we fear when the one and only true God is the very shepherd who leads us.

Praise Him. Praise Him. Praise Him.

FF,
Thanks for the link...it is amazing what man will do to try and control. HAARP will be misused as anything done for power and greed.
