Hi all,

Wanted to post some thoughts that have been going through my head from reading the Book Engaging the Powers by Walter Wink. This book is an absolutely fabulous critique of the Imperium which we all live under, and how to oppose it with the power of the Gospel.

The biggest trap that we all can fall into is the same scapegoating habits of the imperial crew. "its the Zionists, or the NWO, they are to blame. If only we could remove them..."

Fact is, the evil of empire is a part of our existence, it is a part of all of our daily lives. If we transcend it and are given the light to see it as evil and confront it, the glory is God's, not ours. It is his mercy and grace that has made this possible, and those still trapped in its clutches are to be pitied and helped as much as we can. But even more, the cross is the only way to defeat the Imperium, we cannot use its tools (fear, oppression, violence, etc) because then it wins by destroying us or making us like it. Only by refusing to participate in its evil, and accepting the possibility of being destroyed by the power of the Empire can we ever hope to overcome it. Jesus showed us the way. No one tool his life, he gave it freely. Amen

nathandave,

With how very incredibly powerful the Gospel is, we should think of ourselves as armed and dangerous. We are covered in armor (His protection) and ready with our swords (His words of truth) and we are set for the battle.

From Isiah 54:17

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.

All praise and glory to Jesus for making His people strong and mighty, peaceful and joyous. How amazing is our God.

YOu raise an excellent point, Nathandave. I had written a much longer confirmation as a comment, but it was lost (blogger was down when I posted it). But the concept of the inner war, the war of flesh against spirit, and spirit against flesh, should be paid more attention to. It's so much easier to focus on the wickedness outside of ourselves than it is to constantly examine our own hearts first...but that is the tactic of our enemy...we must not succumb to it.

Nathandave,

I enjoyed your first blog. We are so blessed that Jesus opened our eyes to the truth. Not the truth of the world but God's truth.

The stuggle is real and everytime we overcome more light comes into our lives and God reveals more of his glory.

I am glad to see this new blog site. I read the beginners blog on whether blogging is for me and decided it is not but love to comment and encourage those who do.

Thank you Young Brother for adding anonymous as a option to comment. I will add my name at the bottom but I just don't like to give my email address. I use to be a contributor on the comment section on the other site (Is George Bush Jr the antichrist)

I copied this from the article Sandra posted on the other site.

And $507.5 million is still "a huge amount of punitive damages," said John Kimball, who practices maritime law with Blank Rome in New York and who teaches admiralty law at New York University.

Does anyone know what admiralty law is?

Check this out.

There is a lot of good information on this site. I think you all should read it.

Mhoram,

A loud shout out to you and so glad to see you here. I have never heard of admirality law and went to copy your link and it must not be complete because the page cannot be found. I will do my own search for the admirality law, but I would also really like to see the link you posted.

Blessings.

Hi Mhoram,

Admirality law:
Admiralty Courts were a prominent feature in causing the American Revolution. For example, the phrase in the Declaration of Independence “For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury” refers to the practice of Parliament giving the Admiralty Courts jurisdiction to enforce The Stamp Act in the American Colonies. See the Stamp Act, March 22, 1765, D. Pickering, Statutes at Large, Vol. XXVI, p. 179 ff. (Clause LVII relates to jurisdiction in admiralty). Because the Stamp Act was unpopular, a colonial jury was unlikely to convict a colonist of its violation. Since Admiralty Courts do not grant trial by jury, a colonist accused of violating the Stamp Act could be tried before a judge of the Admiralty Courts without a jury.

God Bless

Faithful Forever,

Since you are a blogger on this site why don't you start a blog entitled current events and just say for those who want to contribute events and comments on what is going on in the world.

Just a suggestion but that way those that want to comment on current events could go to your blog.

Love in Christ
Sandra
