COMET LOVEJOY

Greetings on this wonderful day the Lord has made. I am filled with hope recently with all the signs taking place in the Heavenlies. This whole year has been a rather astounding year in many different ways, but Comet Lovejoy has captured my rapt attention lately. Luke 21:25 25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring. (amen). Comet Lovejoy perplexed scientists this week when it wasn't burned up by its' proximity to the sun. Instead it performed a slingshot around the sun and is now lighting up the pre-dawn skies with brilliant displays. Comet Lovejoy is named after the amateur astronomer Terry Lovejoy of Australia who discovered it as recently as December 2nd. It came in on the heels of a blood-red lunar ecliplse and left on the winter solstice. I don't know if that means anything, but the timing seems rather exceptional as well as the size of Lovejoy as it was ten times the usual size of the Kreutz family comets. Yesterday the sun threw out a C-class coronal mass ejection, and today there were M-class flare eruptions that are directed at earth and Mars. The earth's magnetic field is due to be hit on the 28th and said to be arriving at the same time as solar winds which have nothing to do with the eruptions, but the solar winds are a storm in and of themselves. The earth's weakening magnetic field will receive a double hit. The sunspot causing the eruptions will be turning towards earth in the coming days and is being watched closely for more eruptions. And the comet's name alone, Lovejoy - you gotta love that. May it be a sign our redemption is drawing nigh. All praise and glory to the one and only true God. Blessings to all.

Hi Dave. Nice to hear from you and it is a blessing to know you are still around.

Here's an article I just came across about Comet Lovejoy and wanted to share it:

I would love to hear any thoughts or insights.

Awesome post my dear sister. The scientist are ready for more perplexing stuff to come as the lord shakes the heavens and the earth. Lovejoy - interesting name indeed.

Stay blessed and keep looking up.

Comets in the ancient world signaled the overthrow of existing power structures, and judgement against those who currently rule.

Hmmm...who knew. While looking for more info on Comet Lovejoy, I have read that there are 8 planets visible in our skies right now. I had read yesterday that Lovejoy was possibly interacting with Venus and that the tail has grown back, which is somewhat phenomenal I guess, and one place said it had grown a double tail. It can be seen from Victoria for the next month, one article reported.

...speaking of the ancient world, Lovejoy is a from an ancient century. It might be very interesting to find out exactly which century, if it's possible to do so.

'Judgement of those who currently rule AND the overthrow of existing power structures' - Oh, what joy those words and the mere thought of that brings, Dave. I am so ready for a changing of the guard; especially when one believes and hopes in His promises. He has wonderous things in store for His people.

Indeed, my dear brother, those so-called great minds of our 'scientists' had better brace themselves. The Lord will exalt those who are humble and will humble those who exalt themselves. I think it is interesting that an amateur astronomer discovered the 'Christmas Star' (one of the comet's nicknames) and not NASA.

Interesting times, and they will only get more interesting with the best even yet to come. Come Lord Jesus.

Thank you both for the fellowship and the blessings. Our God is so good, and He is coming to reign. But first His enemies will be made a footstool and it is going to be simply the most amazing show on earth.

All creation groans.

Things are certainly on the move. Before the destruction of Jerusalem in 66 AD, comets were seen in the heavens, they appeared as war chariots across the sky. This was a sign of the coming of the Son of Man, in the might of Rome, the abomination that brings desolation. The comet LoveJOy, (what a name!)Appears to be a resurrection Comet, since it appears to "die" in the Sun, but rises with two tails! A very hopeful sign for the future.

Thanks for all that good information and those insights, Dave. Here's another good article with lots of info on Comet Lovejoy which is described as 'glorious' and the 'most amazing thing I have ever seen' by the commander of the space station...imagine what he has seen, but Lovejoy is the most amazing. Here's the link, and apologies again for not learning how to hotlink:

The CMEs are to hit earth on Dec. 28 and 29 causing minor geomagnetic storms that have the potential to wipe out devices that run on radio waves such as GPS, radios and cell phones. Mars is to be hit on the 30th. I don't know what it all means, if anything at all, other than the heavens are very busy and I am so hoping and praying for this to be a prophetic sign written about so very long ago.

Meanwhile, Iran and the US are staging a war of words and show over the Strait of Hormuz. Just the threat of the strategic waterway being blocked (1/3 of the world's oil supply travels through there), has risen the price of oil over $100 a barrel.

Looking up with you Annon as always, and look at the joy it has brought us my beloved brother. I treasure our harmony because I know it is God-given, and I believe it is a foretaste of the feast that is yet to come.

Imagine what a glorious event that will be to walk along with saints new and old, and to have our glorious Savior dwell among us.

Love with holy kisses to all, and His peace that surpasses all human understanding, be with us all.

What a great time to be alive. I rejoice and give thanks.
